Falling into IKIGAI

I’ve written previously of the seven school desk desks that spent the past few seasons in my neighborhood park — and served as my outdoor “office.” They’re gone:

Time for a new office…

I shared previously my unexpected late-February resignation from a position I’d intended to stay in for some time, and my subsequent — equally unexpected — turn to sunrise park basketball as a way to regroup:

Not long thereafter, my constellation of professional contacts aligned and I picked-up the perfect professional rebound, finally solving the riddle:

Where does my story fit best in the NYC market?

At a standing desk [JW and] I [but mostly JW] built — complete with casters and a bottle opener, set at a boutique artists’ agency in Hell’s Kitchen, advocating for actors as an Agent.

I am home:

NYC feels real now, complete with park-adjacent apartment, ergonomic office furniture, dream job — and a lot of work ahead, including weekends spent making spreadsheets and organizing binders (exactly how I like it).

The upper left corner of the photo above is a thoughtful card I received my first Friday of the job — discovered in my mailbox when I returned home late and exhausted (coming from a client show).

This to say: longer gaps between pieces — a friendly reminder you may subscribe to receive a brief note from me when something new posts. (This is the best way to stay in the loop, if you like.)

What about the musical?!

JW and I are now entering Year Two of the process: full draft submitted, first reading anticipated Fall 2019!

Subscribe to seasonal SARAH AND THE SEED updates here. (A heads up to those who’ve done so already: they’ve not yet begun! THANK YOU for your enthusiasm and support!)

Onward. xo

ONION EPILOGUE.
For those who tracked the Onion Experiment [referenced in previous posts], our surprise early-spring greenery peaked at 28″!?!

…then died dramatically,

BUT, in its place, we made a “hat” (and homemade pizza).
